Common questions

About the cloths
What are they made from?

DirtyGirl cloths are made from a unique blend of polyester and polyamide, a high-performance fabric that goes way beyond standard microfibre and cotton. More absorbent, faster drying, odour-resistant and streak-free.

Are the cloths colourfast?

Yes! All those gorgeous DirtyGirl prints stay bright and bold wash after wash. They won't bleed or fade.

Are the wash bags colourfast too?

Yes! Pop them in with the rest of your laundry without worrying about colours running.

Can I use them as a dishcloth?

Absolutely. They make brilliant dishcloths - super absorbent, quick drying, and they won't develop that damp musty smell cotton dishcloths get.

Will they stain?

Generally, no. But if you've wiped up something really dark or oily (think grease, red wine, sauce, makeup), give the cloth a wash with a splash of stain remover. Most marks lift after a wash or two.

For anything stubborn: a colour-safe stain remover will sort it out, even on tougher marks like grease.

Troubleshooting
My cloth smells 🤢

This usually means it needs a proper wash, especially if dish soap or fabric softener has been used (it coats the fibres and traps bacteria).

Try this: Wash in cold or warm water with regular detergent, add a splash of white vinegar instead of softener, and hang to dry fully before storing. If it's been balled up wet, give it a good airing out too. It'll come good after a wash or two.

It's leaving streaks or not performing like it used to 🤔

Nine times out of ten this is a softener build-up issue. Fabric softener is the enemy of these cloths - it clogs the fibres and stops them doing their job.

Try this: Do a regular wash, add a splash of white vinegar to the drum or softener drawer, and watch it perform after that.
